MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 555

 Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 555.

I love getting to use the Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes stamp set. All the critters in this stamp set are adorable and ready to celebrate anything. I took the sketch and flipped it so that the fox with the present would be facing in towards the rest of the card. I also used the little cupcake and one of the confetti strips from the stamp set to stamp in the new Salvaged Patina Distress Ink on the blue cardstock strip to create a cool pattern piece.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, MFT Stamp (SY Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes), Lawn Fawn Paper (Shimmer Cardstock - Tropical (Green)), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Salvaged Patina), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Tape Runner

Supplies: White Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Dandy Day Flip Flop), Lawn Fawn Paper (Shimmer Cardstock - Tropical), Lawn Fawn Die (Stitched Hillside Borders), Scallop Die, Circle Die, Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

For this challenge I wanted to use the ants from the Crazy Antics stamp set and the the line of watermelons from the Simply Celebrate Summer to create a fun summer card. This card could be given a thinking of you or even a birthday card. I also used the Salvaged Patina Distress Ink that was released earlier this year to create a nice background for the stamped images.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Yellow Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Crazy Antics, Simply Celebrate Summer, Simply Summer Sentiments), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Salvaged Patina), Simon Says Stamp Stencil (CZ Designs Simple Patterns Trio), Taylored Expressions Stencil (Masking Stencils - Rectangles (small)), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Taper Runner, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #98 - Happy Spring

Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #98 is called Happy Spring.

I loved the flowers in the vase image in the challenge prompt that I wanted to create a flower arrangement to brighten someone's day. I am not a huge fan of flower arrangements as I am scent sensitive. I think they look pretty but I have a hard time with them being in my space so I thought that one made with paper and copies could be just as pretty & thoughtful as real flowers. I liked the sentiment of "Sunshine to brighten your day!" as a play on the word sunshine and the sunflower.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, Gold Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Our Friendship Grows, Butterfly Kisses Flip Flop, All The Clouds), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #97 - Inspired By Book, Movie or Song Part 2

    Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #97 is called Inspired By Book, Movie or Song.

For this challenge I was inspired by the song Octopus's Garden by the Beatles on the Abby Road album.

The Ocean Shell-ife stamp set is perfect for creating the Octupus's Garden under the sea with a large octopus, jellyfish, fish, seaweed, rocks and clams. I really wanted to use the seaweed and rocks to bring the octopus's garden to life with a few friends to create a party.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Ocean Shell-ife), Lawn Fawn Die (Stitched Hillside Borders), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers, Vintage Image), MFT Stencil (Making Waves), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #97- Inspired By Book, Movie or Song

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #97 is called Inspired By Book, Movie or Song.

For this challenge I was inspired by The Aristocats movie with the family of cats taking a family portrait at the end of the movie. I loved this movie when I was a kid.

With my inspiration in mind I used the Meow You Doin' and Say What? Pets to create the family of cats from the Aristocats. I stamped the cat images and started colouring each cat to look like one of the main characters. I wanted to use the the Aristocats cat family to create an adorablely cute birthday card.

Supplies: White Cardstock,  Lawn Fawn Stamp (Meow You Doin', Say What? Pets, Critter Chatter: Pets), Lawn Fawn Paper (Perfectly Plaid Remix - Jessica Remix), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 533

 Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 533.

I love getting to use the Up In The Air stamp set. So for this card I wanted the hot air balloon to be the big star of the design. I stencilled out 3 sets of clouds and fussy cut them out to make 3 levels of clouds along the bottom of the card before positioning the Hot Air Balloon in the center of the card. I added a banner, a dog face and 2 clouds to finish off the top of the card before adding the sentiment along the bottom left of the card on the top level of clouds.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, MFT Stamp (Up In The Air), MFT Stencil (Clouds), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass), Lawn Fawn Stamp (All The Clouds, Really High Five), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #96 - Birthday Part 3

   Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #96 is called Birthday.

I have been enjoying making Mini Slim cards so I decided to create another birthday card in that size. This time I decided to use the Let's Go Nuts stamp set with a squirrel pulling a little red wagon full of birthday gifts. I used some circle dies and some Lawn Fawn paper to create a cloudy day scene for the squirrel and his little red wagon before using some teal cardstock to create a border around the scene. I added some butterflies flying behind and in front of the squirrel and the wagon to make it look like they are walking across the card.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Teal Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Let's Go Nuts, Home For The Holidays, Butterfly Kisses Flip Flop), Lawn Fawn Paper (Watercolour Wishes - Four Leaf Clover, Into The Woods Remix - Spruce Remix), Dies (Circles), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #96 - Birthday Part 2

   Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #96 is called Birthday.

For this card I wanted to try out some new goodies that I got from the new Lawn Fawn spring collection. With that thought I used the new Butterfly Kisses Flip Flop and Scripty Bubble Sentiments to create the scene. When the new Lawn Fawn spring collection was released I thought that the Butterfly Kisses Flip Flop stamp set was really adorable and would make a cute card when paired with pieces from the Scripty Bubble Sentiments and Bubbles of Joy.

Using the new Lawn Fawn spring collection goodies I created a cute spring day scene card with the fox from Butterfly Kisses Flip Flop stamp set. For the background I covered a white piece of cardstock with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers distress ink before using a circle stencil and the Lawn Fawn Yeti to create bubbles. I also used the stitched hillside borders to create a grassy area for the fox to be running along. For the main sentiment I used the Smile from the new Scripty Bubble Sentiment and The Sky's The Limit from the Bubbles of Joy stamp sets.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Green Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Butterfly Kisses, Scripty Bubble Sentiments, Bubbles of Joy), Lawn Fawn Ink (Yeti), Lawn Fawn Dies (Stitched Hillside Borders), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers), Stencil (Homemade Two Scrapbook Friends Circles), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Tape Runner, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #96 - Birthday

  Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #96 is called Birthday.

Taylored Expressions has this new card size called Mini Slim. The Mini Slim card size is a nice size to work with if you're not ready to make Slimline cards, like me. I haven't been ready to try out making Slimline cards so I thought I would try out the Mini Slim card size for this card idea instead of the normal A2 size.

For this card I wanted to try out some new goodies that I got from the new Lawn Fawn spring collection. With that thought I used the new Bubbles of Joy and Scripty Bubble Sentiments to create the scene. When the new Lawn Fawn spring collection was released I was really excited to get the Bubbles of Joy and play with the new stamp set as the mice and the bubbles are super adorable in this collection.

With all the new goodies from the Lawn Fawn spring collection I stamped out all the images needed for the card before starting on the background. For the background I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers to cover the page before using the Lawn Fawn Yeti ink and circle stencil to create a sky background with bubbles. I also used the stitched hillside borders to create a grassy area for one of the mice to be blowing bubbles along the bottom of the card. For the main sentiment I used the Happy Birthday To You stamps from the new Scripty Bubble Sentiment.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Green Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Bubbles of Joy, Scripty Bubble Sentiments), Lawn Fawn Ink (Yeti), Lawn Fawn Dies (Stitched Hillside Borders), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers), Stencil (Homemade Two Scrapbook Friends Circles), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Tape Runner, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 527

  Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 527.

Since Christmas I have been making quite a few cards but lately they seem to be more thinking of you cards as we have had a Stay-At-Home Order since Boxing Day. I wanted to create a cute card that could be used as a way to let the sender know that my family and I have been thinking about them while still bringing some joy into their lives.

During this current lockdown I have been trying more new techniques with products I already had. This included inking a background then using a stencil adding ink on top of that layer. This is how I created the sky with the sun and the sun rays. I wanted to create some movement with the sheep so I put a mini action wobble to the back.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Green Cardstock, MFT Stamp (BB Ewe Are The Best), MFT Stencil (Radiating Rays), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade), Lawn Fawn Ink (Yeti), Lawn Fawn Die (Stitched Hillside Borders), Homemade Circle Stencil (Two Scrapbook Friends), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Mini Action Wobble, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #92 - Outstanding Occasions Part 2

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #92 is called Outstanding Occasions.

For this challenge I created a second gender neutral baby card. I love the little clothes in the Little Bundle stamp set but I don't get a chance to use it as often a would like. I wanted to stay with the same idea as my first baby card but chance up the layout of the card. I used the mustard seed distress ink and the Starry Sky stencil to create the background on the pale yellow cardstock.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Yellow Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Little Bundle, Scripty Sayings), Lawn Fawn Paper (Perfectly Plaid - Spring), Lawn Fawn Stencil (Starry Sky), MFT Stencil (Mini Clouds), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Mustard Seed, Speckled Egg), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #92 - Outstanding Occasions

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #92 is called Outstanding Occasions.

For this challenge I created a gender neutral baby card. I love the little clothes in the Little Bundle stamp set so I wanted to create a clothes line with a few items that could be used for a neutral baby card. I also love how the Lawn Fawn stamp sets can be used together as I used the "All You Need Is Love" sentiment from the new Special Delivery stamp set and the "(And More Laundry)" sentiment from the Little Bundle stamp set.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Yellow Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Special Delivery, Little Bundle), Doodlebug Paper (Special Delivery), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 532

  Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 523.

For this challenge I wanted to use the pattern paper to create a window of sorts to base the whole design of the card around. Using the MFT Watercolour Wash pattern paper I created two rectangles and 2 squares to create the "window" then using the Special Delivery stamp sets I created a scene of a package being delivered. I wanted this card to have a few different options of what it could be sent for.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, MFT Paper (Watercolour Wash - Blue, Party Patterns - Pink Stripe), Lawn Fawn Stamp (Special Delivery, Special Delivery Box Add-On, All The Clouds), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Stickles (Frosted Lace)

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #91 - New Year

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #91 is called New Year.

For this challenge I wanted to use the silver confetti and sparkler idea and create a card that showed the party after the New Years Ball dropped like I have seen on tv from Times Square for many years. To create this effect I stamped out a party hat, balloons and confetti and coloured them in black/gold/silver. I also had them arranged on the card to show them either being thrown in the air or drifting sky ward.

For the the sentiment I wanted to keep it simple with two speech bubbles. One with the sentiment of "Hello 2021" and the other of party hat. I also used the sketch for this week's challenge on the MFT Blog.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (A Birdie Told Me, Really High Five), Lawn Fawn Stencil (Starry Night), Lawn Fawn Die (Shutter Card), Memento Black Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke), Stickles (Unicorn), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots

Thanks Laurie
