MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 491

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 491.

For this challenge I decided to create a more general card that could be used for a few different types of occasions. This is another stamp set I don't get the chance to work with very often so this was a fun card to create. I saw a new technique that uses a stencil to create a border edge so I decided to use the cloud stencil to create the large circle edge in the sketch.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Blue Smooth Cardstock, MFT Stamp (BB Up In The Air), MFT Stencil (Clouds), Lawn Fawn Stamp (Out Of This World), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 490

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 490.

For this challenge I decided to create a card with a dragon. This is a stamp set I don't get a chance to use very often so I wanted to try to create a card with it. I think this card could be used for Mother's Day or Father's Day or just as a general thank you for someone that inspires you.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Purple Cardstock, MFT Stamp (BB Magical Dragons), MFT Paper (Whimsy Woodgrain - Grey), MFT Stencil (Mini Clouds, Clouds), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers), Memento Black Ink, Purple Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 489

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 489.

For this challenge I decided to rotate the sketch around to have the strip on the right. I wanted to create a more masculine card with this stamped image so I used paper from the Pirate Tales collection from Echo Park to help highlight the pirate and his treasure chest. I added a little sparkle to the gold on the chest and his sword. I love having the browns throughout the card with the card base, twine, treasure chest, his hat, sword handle and pants as this is colour you see a lot of in pirate movies.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, MFT Stamp (Party Like A Pirate), Echo Park Paper - Pirate Tales (Sea Monsters, Constellations, Shark Bait), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Twine

Thanks Laurie

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 487

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 487.

For this challenge I decided to do a birthday card with a bear peeking out of the present. I love to have a rainbow of colours in birthday cards to brighten up the card. I created the background with the Sunkissed Spots stencil from Echo Park Paper and various Distress Ink colours to create a fun, bright background.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Echo Park Paper Stencil (Sunkissed Spots), MFT Stamp (BB Beary Special Birthday),  Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, Peacock Fathers, Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Circle Die

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #75 - Spectacular Skies

Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge # 75 is called Spectacular Skies - where the main focus is on the sky.

For this challenge I decided to use one of Lawn Fawn's older sets. This is one of the first sets I bought from Lawn Fawn when I first discovered their existence. I haven't gotten the chance to use this set very often but I thought it would be perfect for the Spectacular Skies challenge. Since the Stay At Home order really came into effect, I have been making some thinking of you cards to send to family and friends to show them that my family is still thinking of them in this difficult time.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Pink Cardstock, Lawn Fawn stamps (Hello Sunshine), Lawn Fawn Paper (Birthday Candles, Carnation), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Mermaid Lagoon, Squeezed Lemonade), Memento Black Ink, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Yellow Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Doodlebug Hello Assortment Glitter Sprinkles (Yellow)

Thanks Laurie

Flying by to say...

Hi All!

April 29th is always a big deal in my family as it is my Mom's birthday. This year with COVID-19 and the lockdown going on we have had to switch up our plan on how to celebrate Mom's birthday.

But the one thing that was the same as every birthday is a handmade card made by me. This year I used one of my new stamps to create this fly by birthday card. I also stamped "Happy Birthday" on the inside of the card to finish off the sentiment on the front.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamps (Really High Five), My Favourite Things Paper Pad (Birthday Brights), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers), Various Copic Markers, Memento Black Ink, Pop Dots, Lawn Fawn Glue Pen, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

Thanks Laurie
