Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #87 - Card Sketch Part 2

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #87 is called Card Sketch.

For this challenge I couldn't decide between two stamp sets so I created two cards. One is a cute fall card using the Let's Go Nuts stamp set (which is posted in the part 1 post) and the second is a cute winter card using the Snow Bunnies stamp set.

I love the 2019 STAMPtember Snow Bunnies for Lawn Fawn stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. This is the first stamp I ever bought from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember event. All the elements of this stamp set are super adorable, so much so that most of my Christmas cards last year had cute bunnies on them. I again wanted to create a circle scene in the center of the card but for this card I also added the metal topper and the string so that the circle scene became an ornament to hang in the middle of the card. I thought that the vellum circle around the circle scene helps to give the illusion of a glass ornament with the scene inside.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Silver Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Snow Bunnies for Lawn Fawn), Lawn Fawn Paper - Let It Shine (red & white stripes) - White Sparkle Paper, Lawn Fawn Die (Forest Border), Lawn Fawn Ink (Yeti), Lawn Fawn Stencil (Snowflake Trio), Circle Die (2), Vellum Paper, Memento Black Ink, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Black Pen

Thanks Laurie

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #87 - Card Sketch

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #87 is called Card Sketch.

For this challenge I couldn't decide between two stamp sets so I created two cards. One is a cute fall card using the Let's Go Nuts stamp set and the second is a cute winter card using the Snow Bunnies stamp set, (which is posted in the part 2 post).

I love the new Let's Go Nuts stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The little squirrels are soooo adorable. I created this little scene in the centre of the card using a squirrel pulling a little wagon, pile of nuts and baby squirrel. I love the look of colour on colour backgrounds but I didn't have the same colour of brown to look good on kraft cardstock so I used white ink to stamp 3 other squirrels, the little nut and the little rake from the stamp set to create the background. I also used the little leaves pattern paper from the Into The Woods Remix to round out the design of the card.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Green Cardstock, Blue Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Let's Go Nuts), Lawn Fawn Paper - Into The Woods Remix (leaves), Lawn Fawn Die (Forest Border), Lawn Fawn Ink (Yeti), Circle Die Memento Black Ink, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #85 - Awesome Autumn

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #85 is called Awesome Autumn.

For this challenge I wanted to create a scene with a the new Let's Go Nuts stamp set. I love the little squirrels so I created a scene with the leaf pile, the napping squirrel and the squirrel throwing his arms up. The squirrel napping and the squirrel throwing leaves onto of the leaf pile really show two ways to enjoy the fall/autumn season. I popped all the leaves in the air and the leaf pile up while leaving the squirrels flat.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Green Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Let's Go Nuts), Lawn Fawn Paper - Into The Woods Remix (leaves) & Orange Plaid Paper, Lawn Fawn Die (Stitched Hillside Borders), YNS Enamel Dots (Sunset Sparkle), Memento Black Ink, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #84 - Back To School

 Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge #84 is called Back To School.

For this challenge I wanted to create a thank you card that could be sent out to a teacher to thank them for all the hard work they have put in not just when the world was normal but now in pandemic times. I know that life has turned upside down for all the kids of the world as one day they were going to school and seeing/playing with their friends then the next day they are staying home and learning through a virtual platform. Throughout all of this teachers have had to learn new technology, new teaching techniques and still make sure that all the kids can get the help they need in class.

For that I want to say thank you to all the teachers out there for all their hard work and dedication!

Supplies: White Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (Thanks A Bushel), Lawn Fawn Paper - White Woodgrain Texture Paper, Carta Bella Stencil (Autumn Leaves), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo), Memento Black Ink, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots, Yellow Polka Dot Scrap Paper

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 497.

I really wanted this card to be a cute and fun card to help brighten someone's day in this uncertain time.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, MFT Paper - Sweet Celebration (Rainbow Stripes), Lawn Fawn Stamps (Toadally Awesome, Simply Sentiments), Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 495

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 495.

For this challenge I decided to use my new My Favorite Things Die-namics. This die-namic came out in February and it is an awesome sentiment. I really wanted the sentiment to be the star of the card so I used a more calm/neutral pattern as the main strip. For the mini strips I used some of the icon strips to create a bit more pattern on the card. I also inked the back of the card with some green ink to make the mini strips pop off the base of the card.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Black Cardstock, MFT Die-namics (You Take The Cake), Doodlebug Paper - Party Time (icons, strips, confetti), Distress Ink (Twisted Citron), Lawn Fawn Glue Tube

Thanks Laurie

Mother's & Father's Day Cards

Hi All!

Since the stay-at-home orders really came into effect I have been using the time to create lots of cards. I have sent out a lot of the cards to family and friends but two of them were for special occasions in my family - Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Mom really likes the hearts entwined dienamic from My Favorite Things so I decided to use that as the center piece to the card. I diecut it out of three different pattern paper and black cardstock so that I could piece it back to together with cute little patterns as the inlays in the hearts.

Supplies used: White Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Pink Cardstock, MFT Dienamics (Hearts Entwined), MFT Paper - Sweet Celebration (Plaid, Dots, Pink Chevron), MFT Stamps (All About You),  Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Spun Sugar), Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Memento Black Ink

For Dad's card I really wanted to use the One in a Chameleon stamp set and the Doodlebug birthday boy paper collection. I wanted the chameleon to really be the center piece on the card so I used a lot of cardstock to create neutral spaces and only a few pattern papers.

Supplies Used: White Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Stamp (One In A Chameleon), Doodlebug Paper - Party Time (Streamers, Icons), MFT Paper - Whimsy Woodgrain (Green), Cardstock (Silver, Yellow, Orange), Memento Black Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers),Various Copics, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Pop Dots

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #78 - Create A Scene

Hi All!

Lawn Fawn has this challenge blog where usually every two weeks a new challenge is posted.  Challenge # 78 is called Create A Scene.

For this challenge I wanted to create a space themed card. It's been a while since I've created a galaxy background with Distress Ink as I had the instructions written on a little scrap piece of paper that got lost in one of my moves from the past few years. So it was nice to experiment with ink to create the background.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Lawn Fawn stamps (Out of this World, Really High Five), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot), Memento Black Ink, White Ink, Water, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Various Copics, Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, Pop Dots

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 491

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 491.

For this challenge I decided to create a more general card that could be used for a few different types of occasions. This is another stamp set I don't get the chance to work with very often so this was a fun card to create. I saw a new technique that uses a stencil to create a border edge so I decided to use the cloud stencil to create the large circle edge in the sketch.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Blue Smooth Cardstock, MFT Stamp (BB Up In The Air), MFT Stencil (Clouds), Lawn Fawn Stamp (Out Of This World), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter)

Thanks Laurie

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 489

Hi All!

Every Wednesday on the My Favorite Things blog they post a new sketch challenge. This week's challenge was to use Sketch 489.

For this challenge I decided to rotate the sketch around to have the strip on the right. I wanted to create a more masculine card with this stamped image so I used paper from the Pirate Tales collection from Echo Park to help highlight the pirate and his treasure chest. I added a little sparkle to the gold on the chest and his sword. I love having the browns throughout the card with the card base, twine, treasure chest, his hat, sword handle and pants as this is colour you see a lot of in pirate movies.

Supplies Used: White Smooth Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, MFT Stamp (Party Like A Pirate), Echo Park Paper - Pirate Tales (Sea Monsters, Constellations, Shark Bait), Memento Black Ink, Various Copics, Pop Dots, Wink of Stella (Clear Glitter), Twine

Thanks Laurie
